Delete your Sipwell account
You can delete your account and everything stored with it at any time. There is no recovery window, so read what goes before you confirm.
In the app - immediate
- Open Sipwell.
- Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account.
- Confirm when asked.
Deletion happens straight away. You do not need to contact us and there is nothing to wait for.
By email - if you cannot open the app
Email sipwell@idealocean.tech from the email address on the account, with "Delete my Sipwell account" as the subject.
We have to be able to match the sending address to the account, which is why the request must come from that address. We will delete the account within 30 days and confirm by reply.
What gets deleted
Removed permanently from our server:
- Your profile - name, email address, your password or Google account identifier, and any weight, date of birth or gender you entered
- Every intake entry you have ever logged
- Your containers, including custom ones
- Your reminders, and which ones you marked done
- Your settings, reminder schedule and Do Not Disturb window
- Your registered devices
- All sign-in and refresh tokens
- Any confirmation or password-reset link still outstanding
Also wiped from your device:
- The local database holding the same data
- Your stored session tokens
Nothing is retained after deletion and there is no archived copy. We keep no backup from which your account could be restored.
What this does not touch
Your email account is unaffected. Emails Sipwell has already sent you stay in your inbox, but the links inside them stop working.
If you signed in with Google, your Google account is unaffected too - deleting your Sipwell account does not delete or change anything at Google. To also remove Sipwell's access to your Google sign-in, do that at Google Account → Data & privacy → Third-party apps.
Uninstalling is not the same thing
Removing the app deletes the copy on your device but leaves your account on our server, so signing in again on a new phone restores your history. Use Delete Account above if you want the server copy gone as well.
